How to Make Your Marketing Emails Stand Out

If you're not taking advantage of email marketing campaigns - you should be! 333.2 billion emails were sent every single day in 2020, and while that might seem daunting, it shows that there's plenty of opportunities to use emails to engage prospects and maintain a relationship with your audience. Here are a few email marketing tips to help you stand out from the rest!

Make sure they're compatible on all devices

46% of all emails are opened on a mobile phone. Make sure that your content layout has little to no loading time (large images are usually the culprit), and is easy on the eyes. Before you send that email to all your contacts, double-check that it reads well on both devices.

Provide personalized value

Your target audience needs a reason to open and interact with your emails. A good rule of thumb is making each email 80% informative content and 20% selling, although this can vary on the industry. To increase your engagement, add polls and surveys.

BUT, keep it short

Emails with high response rates are usually kept to 75 to 100 words long. With this in mind, keep your content clear, concise, and to the point. Your body text should be scannable, which means you should use bullet points wherever necessary and don't use fluff.

Here are a few more 2020 stats from Hubspot:

73% of millennials prefer communications from businesses to come via email.

80% of business professionals believe that email marketing increases customer retention.

59% of respondents say marketing emails influence their purchase decisions.

Marketers who use segmented campaigns note as much as a 760% increase in revenue.
